Tropical Rain and Banana Leaves, One
One aspect of tropical rain is that it is always loud. Metals ring from the impact, and if you're unlucky enough to be located in a place where sound will echo, you're inundated with a barrage of noise. This is because the raindrops are large and heavy. It doesn't feel good to be caught in such rains, either, and for plants, if they're not able to withstand the daily pummeling, they don't last long.
